Position: Librarian
Reports to: Choir Manager
Status: 12 months part time, non-exempt
Mission Focus
Come be a part of The St. Louis Children’s Choirs, known for excellence in musicianship, character development, and performance-based choral education. The Librarian works closely with the Choir Manager to ensure that music is prepared for rehearsals, and the library and digital database are kept up to date and in good working order. Responsibilities
- Update and refine library database, indices, and layout according to title, composer/arranger, number of copies, performance dates, scanned repertoire, practice tracks, etc.
- Order choral octavos and track order receipts as concert/event needs entail in coordination with Choir Manager and Artistic Director
- Update and maintain practice tracks via SoundCloud and student portal, troubleshooting issues with Technical Specialists as needed
- Triage communications (i.e., written, email, verbal) between all staff and choir families
- At pre-, mid-, and post-concert cycles, efficiently facilitate music preparation, distribution, and collection in collaboration with Ensemble Assistants, Collaborative Pianists, Educational Directors, and office staff
- Report missing and/or damaged music to Choir Manager and Billing Specialists to bill families accordingly in a timely manner
- Order music supplies as needed in coordination with Choir Manager and Office Manager
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 1-2 years of experience in administrative responsibilities
- Able to consistently lift 10-25 lbs regularly
- Detail-oriented, collaborative, and deadline-driven
- Organized yet flexible to Artistic Director and Choir Manager priorities
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Drive
Ideal Qualifications
- Triage with effective written communication for emails, memos, etc.
- Familiarity with St. Louis Children's Choirs concert cycles, values, and song traditions
- Familiarity with SoundCloud
