Executive Director

Ben Nordstrom is an arts advocate, creative fundraiser, award-winning theatre artist, and a lover of St. Louis. Ben joined the Choirs in April 2021 as Development Director and is honored to serve SLCC’s singers, families, staff, donors, and board members as their new Executive Director.

Since 2019, Ben has raised over $2MM for non-profit organizations in the arts and social services sectors. During the 2021-2022 season, Ben’s first full season with SLCC, the Choirs reached their highest total ever raised from individual donors. Last season, this total was surpassed once again with the success of the 45th Anniversary Gala “Magical Moments.”

Prior to his transition to arts administration, Ben enjoyed a 20-year career as a professional actor and singer in St. Louis and New York City, appearing in plays and musicals Off-Broadway and at regional theatres across the country. His many St. Louis appearances include shows at the Muny, the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Stages St. Louis, and Shakespeare Festival St. Louis. He is a recipient of a St. Louis Theatre Circle Award and two Kevin Kline Awards for Best Actor in a Musical and was named Most Versatile Actor in St. Louis by the Post-Dispatch.

Ben was a member of the Leadership St. Louis cohort in 2021-2022. He is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Actors Equity Association, and SAG-AFTRA and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the Sargent Conservatory at Webster University.

President's Leadership Council

The President’s Leadership Council (PLC) consists of a small group of community members that advocate for and support SLCC. This select group meets twice a year to receive updates from staff and board leadership and advises the Choirs on a variety of matters. The PLC allows SLCC to continue close connections with very special supporters.
